"Neurodivergent" vs. "Neurodiversity"

Language matters. As we learn more, our language evolves. The term “neurodivergent” (while frequently misused) means a variety of the composition of the brain; it exists in comparison to the neurotypical (socially constructed concept of “normal”) brain. Neurodivergent folks may have developmental or intellectual disability, or mental health conditions. A person is neurodivergent (adjective), while a person may value neurodiversity (noun).
