Play and communication teaching go together like peanut butter and jelly BUT (and it’s a big but) one of the most overlooked ways to support a kiddo is by using THEIR language for play.

Spoken word (speech) is great—big fan 😉 but if your kiddo is more fluent in sign, AAC or otherwise it is important to speak their “language” while you play. Whatever communication modality you’re targeting for growth, should be incorporated into play (and other natural environment learning opportunities) at every chance!
